Sonata Arctica are going to play at Seerock-Festival near Graz (A) to support Guns N`Roses along with Alkbottle, Soulfly and The Cult. The festival will take place on June 29th and more information (tickets etc.) is available here: Seerock-Festival 2012.
The new SONATA ARCTICA record will be called “Stones Grow Her Name”, and will be released on May, 18th. It was recorded in several studios in Finland, mixed at “Sonic Pump Studios” by Mikko Karmila and mastered at “Chartmakers” by Svante Forsbäck.
The album will be released as limited edition digipak, standard jewel case, vinyl and download.

I’ve had a very hard and work filled two year period writing the songs while touring extensively with our previous album “The Days of Grays”. But it has all been worth it! The official Sonata Arctica webshop (and other fanzone webshops) suffered from a very serious server crash. All orders that were placed before the crash will be handled normally.
As a result of this a completely renewed webshop will open some time soon. Unfortunately this also means that the release of Henrik’s solo album has to be postponed until the new webshop opens.
Sonata Arctica have been confirmed for Tuska Open Air at Helsinki, Finland on June 30th, 2012.
Henkka is releasing his first solo album titled, Klingenberg Syndrome:…and the weird turned pro. The music is described as instrumental progressive metal, and Elias is playing the guitars on the album. For more info go to: lanceland.webs.com

Cancer is a disease that touches every people from all walks of life and the heavy metal community is no exception with many Hard Rock and Heavy Metal legends having lost their battle to this devastating disease and affecting all those around them. The song starts of with a riff which pays hommage to the late Ronnie James Dio and lyrically uses typical heavy metal imagery describing the heavy metal community uniting to defeat cancer which in the song is portrayed as the beast.
We ask people to spare merely a couple of dollars to purchase the song and spread the word so as we the metal community can do our part to contribute and help defeat cancer.
