Announcing The 9th Hour World Tour Europe 2017

Sonata Arctica to return to Europe in early 2017!

Finnish melodic metal giants, SONATA ARCTICA, finished their European tour with Swedish adventure metallers Twilight Force last Saturday with a sold out show at Zeche in Bochum, Germany. On this tour, the Finns presented their latest record titled »The Ninth Hour« (#2 Finland, #7 Sweden (Rock/Metal), #18 Switzerland, #22 Germany, #43 Austria among others – find all chart entries below!) live on European soil for the first time. After SONATA ARCTICA’s forthcoming North American tour with LEAVES’ EYES and OMNIUM GATHERUM, the band will hit European stages once more from February 20th, 2017. Support on this leg will come from Norwegian metallers TRIOSPHERE (February 20th – March 20th), also Finland-based heavy metallers THUNDERSTONE (March 22nd – April 9th) and Canadian heavy metallers STRIKER. “Since our latest European tour was merely a blip on the radar, albeit a strong one at that, we decided that we had to come back and make sure we hit all the places we missed on the first run. “I tried desperately to have at least one positive, uplifting song on this album and maybe this is it. I always struggle writing positive lyrics, that’s the thing. We’ve been called “happy metal” many times because of the melodies and so on, but lyrics are usually something that do not walk the sunny side of the road. They contrast the music. ‘Life’ anyway, is telling people to find good things in life, find the things hurting and causing harm and replacing them with positive things with help of friends. Go out and be together with people, share experiences, live. I know it’s a dumb thing to say, but life is better alive,“ commented Tony Kakko.
